Welcome to Grades 6, 7. 8, Social Studies!
Mrs. AnnMarie Peterson
If you look to the bottom of this page, you will notice a link to my Back to School Night handout. There is also a link to my goals, what I hope to accomplish with the different classes.
Addendum to Back to School document:
- age-appropriate current events are also included in the curriculum for grades 6-8
- Homework Policy (gr.7-8) - If homework is not handed in the day it is due, the student will receive a zero. Now I do realize life happens, so there are certain exceptions, those being: a legitimate reason, e.g. illness. However, a parent must send me an email of said reason by the day the assignment is due. Another exception would be in relation to long term projects or DBQ essays. For these, the grade will decrease each day the assignment is late. If I still have not received the assignment by day 3, the student will receive a zero.
- Homework Policy (gr.6) - For each day an assignment is late, the grade will decrease. If I still have not received the assignment by day 3, the student will receive a zero. Certainly, if a child is ill or there is another legitimate reason for non-completion of homework, that will be taken into consideration. However, a parent must notify me by email by the day the assignment is due of said reason. and
- Use of School Printers - If students are unable to print out assignments at home, they may do so at school, using the following schedule: Wednesday and Friday mornings before assembly from 7:40-7:50 and Tuesdays and Fridays at recess from 12:25-12:50.
